ProtoExpo – Showcasing Ideas in Action

Theme: "Smart, Resilient & Inclusive Engineering: Designing Solutions for the Next Generation"

The Department of Civil Engineering at Poornima College of Engineering invites students from all branches of engineering to participate in ProtoExpo (project exhibition), a vibrant platform to present and demonstrate innovative projects, working prototypes, and creative solutions to real-world problems.

ProtoExpo is more than just an exhibition – it is a celebration of ingenuity, problem-solving, and hands-on engineering skills. Whether your project is a cutting-edge research prototype, a product design, or a community-impact solution, this is your chance to showcase your creativity and technical acumen to fellow students, faculty, industry experts, and potential collaborators.

Who Can Participate?

Students from all domains of engineering – Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science, IT, AI, Robotics, and more – are welcome to submit their projects. Interdisciplinary projects and collaborative teams are strongly encouraged.

Submission Guidelines:

Projects should be original and may be in the form of working prototypes, models, or simulation-based designs.
Participants must submit a brief abstract outlining their project’s title, problem statement, objective, methodology, and expected outcome.
Both individual and team entries are allowed (teams of up to 2 members).

Team Composition:

1 or 2 members per team.
Interdisciplinary teams are allowed and encouraged.

Project Categories:

The exhibition will be held in two categories:

Hardware
Software

Project Type:

Syllabus or non-syllabus-based.
Can be hardware, software.
Should be original or significantly improved upon an existing concept.

Registration process:

Participants must first pay the registration fee.
After payment, participants must complete the ICI TechBloom 26 Registration Form to confirm their participation.

Time Allotment:

Presentation Time: 6 minutes (4 min presentation + 2 min Q&A).
Teams must remain available at their exhibit during exhibition hours.

Setup Time:

1 hour before the exhibition starts.

Power & Display:

Each team will be provided with a table, chairs, and a power supply.
Students must bring their extension cords, display materials, and models.

Poster/Chart Requirement:

Each team should display a project chart including:

Judging Criteria (Common for All Themes)

Bonus Points (5%) can be awarded for sustainability, interdisciplinary work, or social relevance.

Disqualification Criteria

A team will be disqualified if:

Plagiarism or copying from other teams is detected.
Internet usage during the event (unless permitted for IS codes access).
Team members are found communicating with outsiders/other teams.
The team violates academic ethics or event rules.
